Creation of Final Show Piece
I am about halfway through finishing my final show piece. I am creating a detailed illustration based on the Greek Deity, Gaia. I will then animate the illustration so it has small movements happening throughout it. The main movements will come from the creatures and goblins that will surround the girl. This will be mainly created on Photoshop, some aspects may be done on After Effects.Final Show Inspiration
Brian Froud
I found inspiration for my final piece in the work of Brian Froud. The style of his art is very dark but he has aspects of light colours to help highlight the main focus of the images. There is always a lot happening in his work so doing this helps make the focus easier to see. His work focuses on fantasy beings like goblins and faeries. He designed all of the goblins that were featured in The Labyrinth. His work helped to inspire the layout of my final piece and also the colour scheme.
UCAS application
Since the beginning of this year we have been applying to universities. I applied for Northumbria University, Sunderland University and Newcastle College. I went for an interview at Northumbria University and was offered a conditional offer. I chose Northumbria as my firm choice because the staff were friendly and the modules suited me well. The course mainly focuses on Animation (traditional and digital).Projection Mapping Show
Projection Mapping show from Abbey Armstrong on Vimeo. This is our Projection Mapping assignment. We all created animations that were inspired by Tokyo and the 80s. We used software like After Effects, Cinema 4D, Illustrator and Photoshop to create the animation. We had a set colour scheme of bright/neon colours so that it would match the brief.
My Adidas Projection Mapping Animation
ADIDAS Projection Mapping from Fairly Odd Animation on Vimeo. This is the animation i created for the Adidas Projection Mapping assignment. The animation had to based on Tokyo and the 1980s. To link the animation to the brief i chose to base it on Origami. My animation consisted on triangles folding over to reveal different colours and patterns. I also added Adidas in Japanese moving down the sides of each stripe.
